Steve Myers - Master Diver/PADI Dive Master
"Sir Dr.Stephen R Myers Esq III LTD"
Certification from NASDS, 1969 Advanced Certification NASDS, 1971 Certification from NAUI 1974
Open Water Certification from PADI 1983, Advanced Open Water Certification PADI 1984
Divemaster Certification PADI 1984, EFR, AED Certification PADI 2011, Rescue Diver Certification PADI 2013, EFR, AED Certification PADI 2014
Master Diver PADI 2014, Dive Master Certification PADI 2014
Steve was first certified at the age of 12, in 1969.
My diving was limited to beach dives in Laguna Beach and the occasional dive at Catalina Island from my Grandfathers boat. Those early days of diving were without any buoyancy, depth gauge, compass, lights or even (the very early days) a wet suit. But the first time I used SCUBA, the passion fire was lit.
Although I had logged many dives, I didn't really learn to dive until I was certified by Mark Guccione in 1983. He made diving fun and taught such a comprehensive range of SCUBA levels and activities that served to re-ignite my passion to dive.
Working my way up the PADI chain to my current level of Divemaster have been the most rewarding experiences of my life. Along the way I have logged over 1000 dives, including diving wrecks, search and recovery, night diving, lobster hunting (sometimes successfully!) and deep diving.
I am also part of an award winning team of divers from The Catalina Harbor Clean Up of 2013.
Recently, along with Mark Guccione, we are in preliminary discussions with Diveheart, a truly wonderful organization that provides diving certifications and activities for wounded veterans and their families, to bring their services to Southern California.
